Constantin recently joined the Prism team full-time, and I was excited for the chance to chat with him about what he does as a Customer Support Specialist!

What’s your role at Prism, and what are you working on right now?
I provide technical support for Prism’s customers and our internal team as well — that essentially means answering any questions about our hardware, software, and maintenance. Right now I’m working on a big industry problem, which is separating real objects from shadows in the video we process. It’s quite challenging, it’s very interesting from a technical standpoint, and it has wide reaching implications for our customers and in general.
What drew you to Prism?
There’s a big market opportunity in retail for this type of application, and so what Prism’s doing has a lot of potential. Also, I like it because it’s a startup. I’ve spent a lot of time working at big companies, and I love the freedom that startups provide.
What aspects of your job at Prism do you like best?
I really enjoy the flexibility of the work environment, and how much of an open space it is for ideas and communication. Everyone has their voice heard. I also really like that we’re working on projects where there are a lot of challenging technical problems without obvious answers.
What do you like to do outside of work?
My hobbies include photography, mostly of events and festivals, hiking, and surfing! I’m not great at it (surfing) but it’s fun!
What’s your background outside of Prism?
I actually originally have a background in organic chemistry, but that eventually brought me to tech. I worked at Intel for a while and it got me really interested in the tech industry – and that’s how I found Prism.
