Feature Focus: Pathmaps

It’s one thing to know how many customers enter your store. It’s another to understand where they go. That’s where our Pathmaps can help. They’re visual summaries of how people move through your business.

The concept of customer paths, or path to purchase, has been standard practice on websites for nearly a decade. It’s enabled online retailers to optimize their site design and layout, and make it easier for their customers to find what they’re looking for.

We’ve taken this idea and applied it to brick-and-mortar stores. Our Pathmaps are:

  • Available On Demand
  • Easy to Understand
  • Privacy-Protected
  • Much like our heatmaps, they answer key questions about your brick-and-mortar stores: Which displays engage customers? Is the signage in the right place? Are these endcaps effective?

Retailers also use Pathmaps to A/B test their store design. This is another tactic that’s given online businesses an edge, and one that until recently, was impossible for offline businesses to take advantage of.
